V8421 Video Overlay
Unit |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The Video Overlay Unit enables data from equipment generating
text data streams such as Traffic Monitoring Equipment, to
be burnt in over a video picture obtained from traffic cameras
located at the monitoring scene. Employing software configured
for the type of equipment used to record traffic data, the
incoming stream is stripped of data not required for display,
and reformats the display order to suit the required on-screen
presentation. It can be supplied in free-standing or rack-mounted
format. |

V8440 COMPACT DVD/Hard-Drive
RECORDER |
| |
|
|
| |
|
This DVD/HD recorder has been designed to overcome the
limitations of VHS tape based recorders in the Video Survey
market. This unit employs a small, low-power 1GHz PC platform,
large hard drive and DVD writer combined with video overlay
and Picture-in-Picture facilities. Using the included automation
software, many days of video recording are possible, with
storage onto HD or DVD depending upon selected duration. For
unattended use, all configuration parameters such as the recorded
site name, required duration, media to be used etc. can be
preloaded onto the DVD disc, leaving the automation process
to start and stop recordings at the required times, then copy
the image files to the DVD if required. An optional GPS unit
can be fitted to ensure precise timings for recording and
video overlay functions. External serial data from vehicle
speed measuring equipment (for instance) can also be imported
and burnt into the image. |

V8442 1U DBFO DVD
Recorder |
| |
|
|
| |
|
This is a mobile PC-based solution for recording camera
images overlaid with Text data from Traffic Monitoring Equipment
(ADR) while capturing log files and handling all interaction
with the ADR automatically. Using MPEG encoding to hard drive
or to DVD, it compresses the image as necessary to fit on
a single disc depending upon the recording duration chosen.
It is capable of starting and stopping recording at preset
times, overlaying site data including its ID and GPS LAT/LON
position, comparing the ADR timestamp with actual time, logging
onto the ADR and requesting the traffic data stream. It stores
the raw flow data and can burn the DVD at the end of recording
from the hard drive copy. Precise Time references are obtained
from an external GPS/MSF module (V8441). It is fitted with
the V8421 Text Overlay Unit, which strips the incoming stream
of data not required for display, and reformats the text order
to suit the required on-screen presentation. |

V8448 24 Hour Axle-Viewing
Camera |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The V8448 Camera is a sensitive day/night camera which
incorporates ring IR lighting for 24 hour observation of vehicle
wheel axles from a near-kerb position. The rugged case has
been designed to minimise interest from passers-by, with the
aim of looking like an electrical junction box. In order to
guarantee good illumination both nearby and at the limits
of camera range, a 2nd IR light ring has been fitted above
the camera. Specifications for both units are as below. The
unit is fully sealed to IP57. The IR window plate is easily
replaced in the event of damage.
One important characteristic of the camera is the 48 zone
backlight compensation capability – this will help maintain
good contrast on dark wheel axles while operating with a high-brightness
sky background |

V8459 Pipe Camera
|
| |
|
|
| |
|
Designed primarily for Traffic-Survey use, the V8459
camera provides relatively high resolution colour images from
a small CMOS module located in 32mm dia pipe mounted vertically
adjacent to a roadside located streetbox. One of the design
aims was to make the unit both inconspicuous, vandal-resistant
and waterproof. |

V8463 DVD Playback
Controller |
| |
|
|
| |
|
While designed primarily for for Traffic-Survey enumerator
use, this unit seeks to overcome the problems of controlling
frame-by-frame DVD playback while at the same time using hand-held
equipment such as a manual enumerator unit, as is often used
for traffic flow counts. Typically, the time taken to move
a hand from the manual counting mechanism to locate the remote
control, then locate the correct button and depress it – can
amount to several seconds, by which time the vehicle(s) under
scrutiny may be out of the picture. This unit provides instant
control without moving a hand from the unit Using a short
range RF wireless link, it can be located under a desk or
where convenient to suit the user. |

V8516 Critter Vision
Camera |
| |
|
|
| |
|
This Camera forms part of the VES/XTVision range of body-worn
cameras and associated video equipment for Professionals in
the field of Search/Rescue and Extreme Sports activities.
The high-resolution CCD, wide-angle lens and integral dual
High-intensity LED lighting are installed in a custom sealed,
low profile rugged two-part enclosure, It was designed primarily
for video feedback of the scene for armed-response units in
the UK police force. A separate dog-mounted backpack containes
a battery pack and encrypted video transmitter. Video is transmitted
back to the dog-handler who can then assess the level of armed-threat
to the team from a vantage point close to the target. |

V8438 GPS Data Overlay
Unit |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The V8438 GPS OVERLAY UNIT is based on the Ves V8415
Multi-function Module which has been successfully used in
a range of video display applications from traffic flow analysis
displays to Control System Menu Display units for use in submarines.
Version V8438-01 uses a Sirfstar 1 12 channel GPS module and
an internal active antenna for the overlay of position, heading,
speed, date and time onto the video signal before recording
or transmission. V8438-02 is configured for smaller size and
lower power consumption. For automatic map tracking V8439
daughter board can be attached to the underside using the
existing I/O connectors. This takes the GPS data and generates
teletext-like data on unused video lines, allowing our Video
Modem V8443 to automatically extract the data as a serial
signal at the receiver. The signal may be fed to any standard
mapping software accepting NMEA position data. |

V8511 DATA LOGGER
|
| |
|
|
| |
|
Designed primarily for traffic survey use, this unit
overcomes the practical limitations of mechanical clickers
currently used by traffic flow enumerators. Today, revenue
from privately-funded roads in the UK is a major business,
dependant upon accurate records of vehicle flow and classes
of vehicle using each road. This unit provides a means of
logging up to 30 classes of vehicle for up to 3 directions
of simultaneous traffic flow. Each log when complete, can
be sent to a remote server for analysis by modem or direct
serial link. This avoids the time-delays and potential errors
introduced by conventional transcription to paper first. Bespoke
software is included for processing the received files. |
